“They were, I’m not kidding,” Jones told the outlet, before adding that they were “really bummed they couldn't do it.”

However, Ken wasn’t the only role that had a list of other contenders. Back in May, Margot Robbie (who plays Stereotypical Barbie) revealed toVoguethat actress Gal Gadot was thefirst actress considered for the titular role. And if that weren’t enough, Robbie also shared that she and the film’s director Greta Gerwig wanted theWonder Woman 1984star to play the role initially.

“Gal Gadot is Barbie energy,” Robbie shared with the publication. The actress continued, “Because Gal Gadot is so impossibly beautiful, but you don’t hate her for being that beautiful, because she’s so genuinely sincere, and she’s so enthusiastically kind, that it’s almost dorky. It’s like right before being a dork.”

There also was another actress considered to play Barbie:Amy Schumer. However, according toBuzzfeed News, the comedian had to drop out of the project due to “scheduling conflicts.” And in the end, the role went to Robbie.

Dan Levy playing Ken in theBarbiemovie? Maybe there’s still hope for him in asequel?!
