1. Black Is Black Ain't Exhibit
Paying homage to the original documentary released in 1995 by Marlon Riggs, the inauguralBlack Is Black Ain'tis a one-day event in Miami Gardens showcasing local musical talent, dancers, poets and writers. Presented by the E.A.T.N. Project, the exhibit aims to educate, enlighten and present Black history in diverse communities through black independent authors sharing Black narratives.

2. Annual Jazz Festival Weekend
Coinciding with Black History Month, the25th Annual Melton Mustafa Jazz Festivalwill include a weekend of performances, workshops, and other music-filled events. Rooted in African American culture, the jazz festival will honor the late Melton Mustafa Sr., who dedicated his life to preserving and celebrating the art form. The event runs from February 25 through February 27 and will include various COVID-19 precautions, including temperature checks, masks and social distancing.

3. Cultural And Dance Events At The Adrienne Arsht Center
Ranging from intimate concerts to visual performances to educational panels and beyond, theAdrienne Arsht Centerwill host a number of Black History Month events throughout February. But if you have to choose just one event to attend, we’d go withAlvin Ailey’s American Dance Theater, which celebrates the power of dance in bringing people together.
