This Kate Winslet-Will Smith Flick Is the New #6 Movie on Netflix

凯特•温丝莱特and Will Smith are (re)teaming up forCollateral Beauty, which is suddenly gaining popularity onNetflix.

The movie originally premiered back in 2016, but it recently claimed the number six spot on the streaming service’slist of most-watched films. (It’s currently ranked behindDog Gone Trouble,Home,Blue Miracle,Army of the DeadandThe Mitchells vs. the Machines.)

So, what isCollateral Beautyabout? Meet Howard (Smith), a successful ad exec who withdraws from his friends (including Winslet) following a life-changing tragedy.

In an attempt to reconnect with himself—and the universe—he begins writing personal letters to Love, Time and Death, which results in multiple responses. Can their stories teach Howard the true meaning of loss?

The official description reads, “An advertising executive wrestling with grief finds meaning by writing letters to unconventional recipients as caring colleagues plot a ruse.”

In addition to Smith and Winslet,Collateral Beautyfeatures an all-star cast, including Edward Norton (Whit Yardsham), Keira Knightley (Amy Moore/“Love”), Michael Peña (Simon Scott), Naomie Harris (Madeleine), Jacob Latimore (Raffi /“Time”), Helen Mirren (Brigitte /“Death”), Ann Dowd (Sally Price), Mary Beth Peil (Mrs. Yardsham), Raymond Greene-Joyner (Mr. Yardsham) and Shirley Rumierk (Mrs. Scott).

The movie was directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada), while Allan Loeb (我们之间的空间) wrote the screenplay. Michael Bederman (Spotlight), Bruce Berman (Training Day), Richard Brener (The Butterfly Effect), Peter Cron (The Circle), Michael Disco (Rampage), Toby Emmerich (Frequency), Steven Mnuchin (Mad Max: Fury Road) and Ankur Rungta (True Memoirs of an International Assassin) served as executive producers.
