This Justin Timberlake Thriller Has Become the New #1 Movie on Netflix

Another day, another film that’s shot to the top of Netflix'slist of most-watched movies. Because the streaming service releasesnumerous new titles every month, we keep our eyes peeled to see which ones are resonating most with viewers. Now, it appears that the dark thrillerReptile, which premiered on September 29 and which features an all-star cast, quickly picked up steam over the weekend.

Reptilefollows detective Tom Nichols (Benicio del Toro), who is put on the case when a young real estate agent gets brutally murdered. However, while Tom thinks the prime suspect is the victim’s boyfriend, Will (Justin Timberlake), he discovers a web of lies wrapped around the case that makes things much more complicated.

In addition toTheUsual Suspectsstar and the former *NSYNC member,Reptilefeatures another ’90s icon in its cast—Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), who plays Tom’s wife and helpful confidante, Judy.

The twisty thriller was directed by Grant Singer, who makes his film directorial debut. In the past, Singer has been best known for directing pop music videos for the likes of Sam Smith (“How Do You Sleep?”), Lorde (“Green Light”) and The Weeknd (“Starboy”). Singer also co-wrote the script with Benjamin Brewer and star del Toro.

Right now, the filmhas an 80% audience scoreon Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 250 ratings from viewers. Currently,Reptileis sitting above other recent Netflix hits likeLove is in the AirandSpy Kids: Armageddon. It also surpassed trending hits likeIdentity Thief,Last VegasandThe Amazing Spider-Man 2.
