Netflix Drops Trailer for Real-Life ‘Squid Game’ Competition Show & It’s Eerily Similar to the Scripted Series

If real people were thrown into the鱿鱼的游戏arena, how far would they go for $4.56 million? Well, we’re about to find out.

The brand-new trailer confirms that the arena is nearly identical to the scripted show, featuring the labyrinth of stairways, the rows of bunk beds and the animatronic doll, Young-hee. The games are also taken directly from the O.G. series, including the Red Light/Green Light competition.

Of course, it’s important to note that the players don’t die when they’re eliminated (like in the show). In鱿鱼的游戏: The Challenge, each contestant is wearing an ink pack on their chest, which explodes when/if they fail.Phew!

Netflix previously teased the spin-off last month when it released a teaser for鱿鱼的游戏: The Challenge. The clip (see above) begins with a montage of scenes showing the Squid Game control center coming back to life. “Attention, players,” a masked man says. “You will now compete for our biggest cash prize in reality show history.”

The clip goes on to show the real-life players entering the arena. Although the stakes are high, there’s only one thing on their minds: the cash prize.

“People do a whole lot worse for a whole lot less,” one person says.
