‘Stranger Things 4’ Made History with 1.3 Billion Hours Viewed on Netflix

Stranger Thingsis stilltopping the Netflix chartsweeks aftervolume 2premiered.

Ever since the sci-fi series returned withStranger Things 4, it has been breaking records left and right. Not only did it have the biggestpremiere weekend原来英文Netflix series, but it has also topped the streaming service’s list of most-viewed English-language titles for the eighth week in a row. Oh, and this season has accumulated 1.3 billion hours viewed in its first 28 days on Netflix.

That number surpassed quite a few of Netflix's top shows, includingBridgertonseason 2, which came in second with 656 million hours viewed, andBridgertonseason 1, which had 625 million hours viewed.

As if this weren't impressive enough, fans have also been taking a walk back down memory lane, which explains why previous seasons have also made it into the top 10. Season one added another 31 million hours viewed, while seasons two and three added 33 million each.

In case you're unfamiliar with the coming-of-age series,Stranger Thingsstarts off with an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of a young boy named Will (Noah Schnapp) in Hawkins, Indiana during the 1980s. As supernatural events occur throughout the town, a young girl named Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) appears after escaping from a secret lab. And with her handy psychokinetic abilities, she embarks on a mission to help her new friends find Will.

Fast-forward to season four and Will has long since been rescued. But unfortunately, dangerous new threats continue to surface because of a parallel world known as the Upside Down. Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Natalia Dyerall all star in the series.

Given the success of season four so far, we're predicting that Volume 2 will continue to shatter Netflix records.
