The #1 Problem with Netflix’s ‘Virgin River,’ According to Actual Fans

From thejaw-dropping cliffhangersto thetalented cast, we can list a bajillion reasons why we love Netflix’sVirgin River. Still, we weren’t surprised when we stumbled upon thisReddit thread, which draws attention to the show’s repetitiveness.

WhileVirgin Riveris extremely entertaining, fans are growing tired of this monotonous problem: There are way too many pregnancy storylines. AsCheat Sheetpoints out, the series is filled with countless babies, bump announcements and talks of starting a family.

“Someone either wants a baby, has too many babies, needs to give up a baby, lost a baby, is implanting babies or mourning dead babies every second of this damned show,” one person wrote. Certainly not the most sensitive fan reaction, but the overall point is taken.

The more we think about it, the more we realize that almost every single female has some sort of pregnancy-themed storyline, including everyone from Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) to Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge). Oh, and how can we forget about the late Lilly (Lynda Boyd), who is survived by baby Chloe?

“I love the show, my main issue is that they went overboard with pregnancies. Especially in this day and age, it’s somehow irrelevant,” another person wrote. Someone added, “Birth control is apparently not a thing inVirgin Riverworld.”

The cast is reportedly filmingVirgin Riverseason fourin Canada. Since the previous installment concludes with Mel telling Jack (Martin Henderson) that she’s pregnant—and it might not be his child—the new episodes are bound to carry on this pregnancy trend.*Sigh*
