Behold, a piece of news we can all be happy about:Ina Gartenjust revealed a new release date for her next cookbook, and it’s sooner than we expected.

You’ll recall that in early March, she shared the title, cover and publish date in anInstagram post, saying, “I’m so happy to tell you - my next book Modern Comfort Food will be available this October!! This book is filled with seriously satisfying recipes that you’ll want to make for yourself and the people you love. In these anxious times, who doesn’t want a little comfort?? xxxxx Ina”

The cookbook, her 12th, was set to publish on October 27, but two months later (with the times being no less anxious), Garten clearly sensed our desperation. She posted anupdate她昨晚Instagram,宣布,“好新鲜S!! Because we all need it ASAP, we decided to move up the publication date of my new book MODERN COMFORT FOOD to October 6th! You can preorder it online, at bookstores everywhere, or atBarefootContessa.com. Scroll through for a sneak peek of what’s inside - everything from Creamy Tomato Bisque to Boston Cream Pie! #staysafe #keepcooking”

Comforting indeed. It’s been almost a year since the 72-year-old chambray queen teased thatshe was working on her 12th title. Obviously we can’t fault the busy lady; she’s also working ona memoirthat’s slated for a 2023 release. And true, October 6 is really only three weeks earlier than expected…but we’ll take what we can get.

Modern Comfort Foodwill feature 85 satisfying new recipes from Ina’s East Hampton kitchen, ranging from well-loved crowd-pleasers to childhood classics (but all with an effortless Ina twist). Think Smashed Hamburgers with Caramelized Onions, Cheddar and Chutney Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Boston Cream Pie,Banana Rum Trifleand Black and White Cookies. We’re drooling.

Of course, we’ll have to wait until October to get our hands on the book, but we’ll be just fine tiding ourselves over with her 11 other cookbooks until then, along with her glorious newmac and cheese recipe. And yes, we already preordered a copy.
