It’s no secret that the 70s are back. From hair trends we can’t get enough of (Fawcett flip) to fashion staples we’ve been waiting to revive (platform boots), it was only a matter of time before the era made its way back into our homes. Think: velvet andrattan materials, playfulwallpaperpatterns and lots ofCali coastal colors. That said, when it comes to furniture, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mentionLigne Roset’s seating collection. The French furniture brand is known for its groovy, ground-hugging pieces, where the iconicTogo sofahas made a splash on Instagram in recent years (more on that below). And while Ligne Roset pieces are definitely an investment, we’re pulling the trigger during its site-wide sale: everything is 20 percent off (with some exclusions) from now through September 21. Below, three 70s seating staples from Ligne Roset you won’t want to miss.

1.Togo Chair

Ligne roset

As mentioned above, this piece was designed by Michel Ducaroy in the early ‘70s—and it’s showing upeverywherein fashionable apartments. From a musician’sManhattan Seaport padto a fashion trendsetter’s flat inParis’s Haut-Marais, celebs and influencers can’t seem to get enough of this low-slung lounge chair. The design is especially comfortable because it is dense poly foam that you sink down into, instead of a traditional sofa, which is constructed with springs or supports and feather or foam stuffing. Not to mention that you could build modularly over time—and it’s customizable with hundreds of fabrics and finishes (13 of which are ready for quick-ship, right to your door). Still, while this guy isn’t included in the sale (sigh), you can start with one chair as an accent piece and build it into a sectional or loveseat when your wallet is ready.

2.Ploum Sofa

Ligne Roset

At the heart of the Ploum sofas lies a blend of two key elements: stretchable upholstery and an ultra-soft foam. It feels like you’re sitting on “one giant marshmallow,” per oneTikToker, where the injected foam makes it a cushy place to sink in. Then thanks to its generous dimensions, it can also seat four people comfortably—and the large settee boasts an asymmetrical construction that’s right in-line with the 70s look. The right-hand backrest is slightly higher than its counterpart on the left, while the right-hand seat is a tad deeper than the left one. Even the zip on the backrest's rear is thoughtfully placed off-center, adding to the uniqueness of the piece.

3.Pukka Armchair

Ligne Roset

This squishy chair was inspired by a sponge, where designer Gaetano Pesce was captivated by the way it regains its original shape, even after being squeezed. The sponge theme is infused with a feminine, soft organic design with a construction of ultra-flexible foams and dynamic curves. It’s also encased in “the most stretchable fabrics available,” per the brand, which most notably includes a new “Gentle fabric” with a 100 percent wool stretch velvet. The best part is that the piece is modern enough to work withunderstated aestheticsand bold enough to make a statement in moremaximalist spaces.
