If you’ve ever tried making homemade lemonade, you know it turns into a real project, real quick. Not only do your hands get overworked from squeezing all those lemons, but it never even feels like you’re getting *all* the juice out of every fruit. From now on, we’ll be saving ourselves the arm workout and letting our new favorite kitchen appliance work its magic: theSmeg Citrus Juicer.

Smeg, an Italian home appliance manufacturer, is known for combining retro designs with contemporary tech. And of all of the brand’s inventions (ovens! fridges! toasters!), the citrus juicer is our favorite example. The gadget has a throwback ’50s vibe, but even more importantly, it gets every last drop of juice out of oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. Our social media strategist Ali Brown says hand-squeezing doesn’t come close: “It works so well; it’s wild how much juice you get out of a lemon. It getseverything. Even if I hand-juiced the lemon for 15 minutes, it wouldn't look like what the juicer does in 10 seconds.”

Plus, it’s super easy to use. All you need to do is hold the halved fruit against the reamer and let the automatic motor do its thing. The juice gets pushed through a pulp strainer (for all of you who could never get use to little flecks in your OJ) and out a spout right into your glass—no mess, no waste, no sticky fingers. The dome lid also doubles as a bowl for discarded citrus rinds and protects the juicer while it’s stored away.

Not only does it take us to lemonade land in a few minutes flat, it’s super easy to clean and even easier on the eyes. The juicers are made of die-cast, powder-coated steel. They’re available in seven colors, from pastel blue to black to pink, but the cream number has Brown’s heart. “It’s beautiful, like a little piece of art in the kitchen,” she says.

While it may look great on your countertop, Brown admits it’s a little bulky at 11 inches by 6½ inches by 6½ inches. So, if you’re working with a cramped galley kitchen in NYC, it may not be worth the real estate to you. But if you can spare the precious space (or tuck the juicer away somewhere when you’re not using it), we promise it’s worth it.
