Eva Mendes Reflects on Anniversary of First Movie with Ryan Gosling and Says Their Romance Began Before Filming

Eva Mendes is feeling sentimental. The 49-year-old actress madean Instagram postearlier this week celebrating the ten year anniversary of her 2013 filmThe Place Beyond the Pines. And in case you're unaware, this movie has a special place in the Florida-born star's heart, because it was her first movie withher now-husband, Ryan Gosling, 42.

“Luke & Romina,” Mendeswrotein her caption, along with two black heart emojis. InThe Place Beyond the Pines, Gosling plays Luke Glanton, a motorcycle stuntman who has an on-and-off relationship with Mendes's character, Romina Gutierrez.

In the rest of her caption, Mendes wrote, “Mi socia @scondito just sent me this telling me it’s been 10 years since this film came out. Feels like lifetimes ago.”

The slideshow included 9 different photos from the film, and fans took to the comments to show how much they love the crime drama. One user wrote, “One of my favourite movies ever. You were both incredible in it.” Another added, “One of the best of all time…”

The Place Beyond the Pinesreceived positive reviews from critics and grossed over $45 million at the box office. However, it was also where Gosling and Mendes's romance blossomed.

The tworeportedly started dating in 2011and they have been together ever since. However, they like to keep details of their relationship private, and they are rarely pictured together. They currently havetwo daughters, Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 6.

Days after her first post, Mendes shared another that featured a clip from the movie. And in her caption, she revealed that her and Gosling's romance actually began before they walked on set. “Magic is Real,” she wrote. “We did not meet on set. The magic started way before but here’s a little magic captured on camera. Gracias to the increíble director Derek Cianfrance.”
