PerPeople, the Duchess of Cambridge will be playing against 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer next month. By competing in this tennis match, she hopes to raise awareness for two charities she has a deep fondness for—Action for Childrenand theLTA Foundation.
Not only will this event help shine the spotlight on important causes, but it will also include an opportunity for young children to have the chance to play alongside Federer on the tennis court. The ultimate goal? The duchess hopes to encourage all kids regardless of their ethnic background to “become involved in the sport” and see the “mental and physical health benefits” from it.
Middleton and Federer are also teaming up withLaver Cupto sponsor a charitable event called “Open Practice Day.” On that day, fans will have the opportunity to watch the players from Team Europe and Team World practice. All the proceeds will be donated to the same two charities.
