Allow us to introduce you to the newGerber baby…Maddie Mendoza!

The adorable ten-month-old was announced as the winner of the 13th annualGerber Babyselection process earlier this week.

For this year’s photo search, parents were encouraged to submit athrowback pictureof themselves as babies and a photo of their own child. When applying, Crystal (Maddie’s mom) sent a picture of herself and her newborn daughter, Madison “Maddie” Mendoza.

After Gerber unveiled the winner, the company posted both photos of the mother-daughter duo on social media and theresemblance is uncanny. From the rosy round cheeks to their fluffy black hair, Crystal and Maddie practically look like identical twins.

While speaking toPeople, Crystal revealed how she stumbled upon the photos for the submission. “I liked that there was a throwback aspect to it. I was going through my old photos and happened to find one where I was wearing a very similar outfit to what Maddie was wearing,” she shared.

Maddie’s dad, Jun (who serves in the military), shared it was a “dream” that Maddie was chosen as the new Gerber baby. “We’re really grateful for this opportunity and excited for the world to meet Maddie,” he told the news outlet.

Some fun facts you may not know about Maddie? Aside from being a military child from Colorado, the small baby has a lot of hobbies and interests. For example, she loves trying new tasty food, has a blast taking swimming/music lessons and enjoys going on hikes with her mom and dad. In addition, Maddie’s grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from the Philippines.
