Neil Patrick Harris and His Family Don ‘Killer’ Halloween Costumes This Year

Well, Halloween has officially come and gone. And while we were starting to get nervous thatNeil Patrick Harriswasn’t going to give us a family costume this year, the48-year-old actorrevealed his annual family photo just in time. (We knew thecostume geniushad something up his sleeve.)

This year, Harris, David Burtka and their twins, Harper and Gideon, dressed up as famous scary movie characters, including those fromThe Exorcist, The ShiningandChucky. “‘Frights, Camera, Action!’ This Halloween, may all your screams come true…,” he captioned the post.

We’re not totally surprised that the gang came up with such a clever idea, considering he teased the costume during a conversation with PureWow last month. During the chat, he revealed that the family of four was in the process of agreeing on a costume. “Were trying to come up with a group idea. The kids as they get old get more annoying (is that the right word?), more difficult to convince. So, I don’t know,” Harris revealed before inquiring about appropriate tactics to persuade his children to participate.

“Let me ask you a question, in the same world: Is bribing your children to do a family Halloween picture appropriate at 10 or 11? And at what price point now? ‘I'll give you ten dollars if you’ll do a group Halloween picture?’ No, I’m joking.”

All jokes aside, Harris affirmed that there was a costume in the works. “We have a family picture that we’re going to do, we still have to take it. We’re all kinds of busy. They’re in the fifth grade. So, thinking like a student is big on my list right now. Coming up with Halloween costumes is a little bit lower. But I do love me some Halloween. I cant wait to do some haunted houses—we’re all wearing masks anyway.”

Naturally, we had to reminisce about our favorites over the years. According to theMatrix 4star, he has a hard time picking his. “I don’t really [have a favorite], each year has been super different. I do like the super scary stuff. Last year, we didWilly Wonka and the Chocolate Factorywhich is one of my favorite movies. So, that one turned out pretty well. Oh, and we did Disney’sHaunted Mansionone year, that was fun.”

We’re officially adding this one to the list.
