One year ago today, September 8,Queen Elizabeth IIpassed awayat the age of 96, while residing in her private Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle (a place which made the monarch “most happy,”according to her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice). Now, on the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, Prince William, 41, and his wife, Kate Middleton, 41, are honoring the late monarch with a service at St Davids Cathedral and a specialtribute on social media.

“Today we remember the extraordinary life and legacy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth,” the Prince and Princess of Wales wroteon their TwitterandInstagram accounts. “We all miss you.” The pair then signed the message: “W & C.”

Prince William and Princess Catherine’s social media posts feature photos of the monarch surrounded by two of her favorite things: dogs and family.

Then, the following slide sees the queen with two of her grandchildren and eight of her great grandchildren, while the following is a pic of Her Majesty with the Wales family.

In addition to their social media tribute, the couple attended a service at St Davids Cathedral in St Davids, Wales, where they commemorated the life of Queen Elizabeth II.

On their way into the service, Princess Catherine carried a bouquet of white flowers, which she eventually laid in front of a photo of the late monarch. We're pretty sure we spotted some lily-of-the-valley in that bouquet (which just so happened to be Queen Elizabeth’sfavorite flower).

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales sported a chic maroon coat dress, emulating a lookworn by Queen Elizabeth for the Commonwealth Day service in 2018. Meanwhile, Prince William opted for a blue suit.

We feel certain that Queen Elizabeth would've loved these tributes.
