On July 1, Princess Diana would have celebrated her 61st birthday, and although the Princess of Walestragically passed awayback in 1997, her spirit is still being kept alive, especially by her two sons—Prince William and Prince Harry.
In honor of their mom's birthday, both the royals reflected on her life in messages shared at theDiana Awardceremony this past Friday. The Diana Award is a prize given to young people aged 9-25, who, through their social work or humanitarian efforts, attempt to improve the lives of others.
According toUs Weekly, Prince William sent a letter to the award recipients, where he said, “You truly are the personification of my mother’s legacy and I know she would be so proud of you all...I believe there’s no better way to celebrate her life and work than through recognizing incredible people who dedicate so much time and effort to helping those around them.”
