Regina King just walked the red carpet at the2019 Oscarsand spilled details about her role inIf Beale Street Could Talk.
Tonight, the 48-year-old actress arrived at the91st annual Academy Awards穿着一件chic white gown by Oscar de la Renta. During an interview on the red carpet, King discussed her role inIf Beale Street Could Talkand revealed that she learned about the project while directing season two, episode six ofThis Is Us, titled “The 20’s.”
The episode, which aired back in October 2017, wasn’t the actress’s first time sitting in the director’s chair. In fact, King has helmed a number of popular series, includingScandal,The Catch,Being Mary Jane,Pitch,ShamelessandAnimal Kingdom.
Although she didn’t receive any directing nods for tonight’s ceremony, King won an Oscar Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for playing Sharon Rivers inIf Beale Street Could Talk.
