Mickey fans, alert the presses! The Imagineers at theWalt Disney Companyhave been hard at work making magic happen across the globe. Earlier this month, the Parks and Experiences division announced animpressive lineupof new rides, attractions,hotelsand cruise ships set to launch over the next four years (with the first one premiering in just a few days).
On August 31, Disney will kick things off with the opening of theSan Fransokyo Squareat Disney California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort. Brought to life by the team behindBig Hero 6, you can expect to meet Baymax and Hiro as you chow down on clam chowder and Yaki udon. Soon after in fall 2023, the highly anticipatedJourney of Water, Inspired byMoanawill finally open in Walt Disney World’s Epcot Park featuring a self-guided exploration trail that allows guests to play and immerse in the wonderful world of water (with a stunningTe Fiti modelat the heart of it all). Disney closes out the year with a November release of theWorld of Frozendebuting in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, as well as aZootopia-themed landappearing in late 2023 at the Shanghai Disney Resort.
The highlight of 2024 is without a doubt the opening ofTiana’s Bayou Adventurein both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World. Since it was first announced in 2020, Disney fans have been patiently waiting for updates on thisThe Princess and the Frog-themed reimagining of the beloved water ride,Splash Mountain. Though the targeted launch date hasn’t changed, we’re happy to share that it hasn’t been pushed back either (2024 isn’t that far away!). And with the newTiana’s Place Restaurantopening in Disneyland on September 7, 2023, at least we’ll have plenty ofmint julepsand煎饼to keep us occupied while we wait.
Finally, 2025 and 2026 bring with them three new Disney cruise ships,including the Disney Treasure (so start saving thosevacation daysnow).
