3 Ways to Deal When You’re Married to a Pisces

How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand? It’s one of the central questions posed about Maria inThe Sound of Music(classic Pisces), and it applies to all the zodiac’s fish. If you’re married to one, you know the answer already: You don’t. You let the moonbeam be and appreciate its majestic beauty without trying to possess it. Pisces are the most incomprehensible, slippery creatures of the zodiac, containing multitudes and layers that would take a lifetime to unpack. Sounds exhausting, but they are some of the most nurturing, romantic and devoted partners around. A Pisces in your corner means you can do just about anything. So, here’s what to do to keep them there.

The One Thing That Stresses You Out the Most, According to Your Sign

Just Tell Them When Something’s Wrong

They already know. Pisces are a little bit psychic (yes, all of them), and chances are, they sensed something was amiss way before you did. They can smell a mood shift like blood in the water, which leaves them very certain that something’s wrong without necessarily knowing why. Pisces are interior and neurotic, and their hyperactive imaginations will get busy generating worst case scenarios. To ease their worried hearts, just let them know what’s bothering you in real time. That’ll stop the swirl of negative thoughts and allow them to focus on repairing things with you in the real world.

Take Care Of Yourself

It’s a bit of a cliché, but sometimes the best way to help others is by helping yourself. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t lean on your partner but know that your Pisces has deep caretaker instincts and martyr complexes—they wish they could save the entire world, starting with you. So, one of the most meaningful gifts you can give is to take care of your own needs when you can. Whether it’s going to therapy to talk about your issues with your mom for the umpteenth time or getting in a spin at Soul Cycle, doing some of your own emotional and physical labor may seem like a no-brainer, but by helping yourself, you’re actually giving your Pisces spouse some breathing room. It’s in their bones to want to try and help, so as much as you can handle yourself, you will immediately lighten their load.

Goof Off In Character

Pisces don’t get enough credit for how playful they can be, but don’t forget that they are the visionaries and artists of the zodiac. In other words, they can get into character with the best of them (that means Meryl Streep, by the way). Get on their level and make them laugh by initiating an impression or silly demeanor. They’ll probably quip back with impressive precision and insight—not to mention a witty and savage sense of humor. It can be alarmingly easy to spend hours off your phone when you’re with a Pisces in their element, and whether or not they win an Oscar at the end of it, they’ve certainly won your heart (aww).
