‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Star Henry Golding Swaps Romance for Car Chases in This New Action Thriller Flick

"In theG.I. Joecomics, Snake Eyes is one of those characters that's had kind of a mysterious past," Golding explains in the video. "He was famously known as the silent ninja." Now, theSnake Eyesfilm will offer an unexplored narrative by following the character's story before he lost his voice.

"I'm super excited for people to see what we're building. This is literally a stepping stone into theG.I. Joeuniverse," Golding adds.

Alongside Golding, the film will starAndrew Kojias Tommy/Storm Shadow,Úrsula Corberóas The Baroness,Samara Weavingas Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Takehiro Hira as Kenta,Iko Uwaisas Hard Master and Peter Mensah as Blind Master.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Originswas directed by German filmmaker Robert Schwentke, who directed the final two installments in theDivergentfilm series, as well as the 2009 romantic dramaThe Time Traveler's Wife. The screenplay was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, based on a story by Spiliotopoulos. The movie will be released to theaters on July 23.
