OMG! A 'Downton Abbey' Escape Room Exists, and the Wall of Bells Is Part of the Game

In preparation for the release of theDownton Abbeymovie, due out September 20, 2019, a new themed escape room game just opened up in Salt Lake City...so start planning your Utah vacation ASAP.

Fans of the Masterpiece PBS series might be surprised to learn that the escape room is the first officially licensed attraction of its kind, and features the iconic wall of bells like the Crawley family uses to call the butlers, cooks and maids when they need them. It's also got a piano, a china cabinet, a long dining room table and furniture that's meant to match the actual TV and movie set "because we want people to feel like they're actually entering the Abbey," Les Pardew, owner of Mystery Escape Room, where the Downton Abbey attraction is located, told KUTV.

The 60-minute timed escape room is made up of two rooms separated by a hallway, according toKUTV. Tickets for the adventure are available on Salt Lake City's Mystery Escape Roomwebsitefor $35 each.

"It's like you're visiting Downton Abbey as yourself but you're actually part of the story. It's like being in a movie. It extends the story," Pardew said.

According to the websitedescriptionof the escape room, visitors can "delve deep into the nooks and crannies of the servants' hall as you race against the clock to prevent a massive scandal from ruining the Crawley family, and thus the future of Downton itself! The stakes are high, are you up for the task?"

Like we would even want to escape fromDownton Abbey, anyway...
