Drew Barrymore Explains Why She Likes Getting Up Close with Talk Show Guests: ‘I Feel This Magnetic Pull’

On Drew Barrymore's hit talk show,The Drew Barrymore Show, she loves to hug, hold hands and get close with her guests, and while stopping byThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 48-year-old starexplainedwhy she likes to get up close and personal.

During a chat about the show, Fallon jokingly said to hisFever Pitchco-star, “You can't sit in your chair!” To which Barrymore responded, “No, I...feel this magnetic pull.”

Barrymore added, “My therapist would say, ‘You're not supposed to be attached to things.’ But Barry, I'm so attached to this. I love doing this show so much. I get to learn from people every day. I get to have these incredible conversations that I definitely take something away with. It's always improving my life.”

TheNever Been Kissedstar launched her daytime talk show, often shorted toDrew, back in September 2020, during the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic (with virtual guests being beamed in, rather than having a live audience). Since its premiere, the show has won over a continually growing audience, and it recently gotrenewed for a fourth season.

The conversation all started when Fallon brought up the success of Barrymore's talk show, and then he referenced the joke going around about how physically close Barrymore gets to her guests.

As an example, Fallonpulled out a photofrom when Brooke Shields visited the show. “You guys are basically, like spooning, almost,” he joked. In response, Barrymore said, “Yeah, and we got much closer than that at certain points, too.”

Later, theCharlie's Angels女演员补充道,“我爱的人。我爱每一个人being on the planet. I'm fascinated—and everyone has a story.” And with regards to the jokes about her intimacy on her talk show, Barrymore said, “At first, I was like, ‘Oh, is this a good thing? I can't tell.’ And then I was like, ‘No, this is awesome!’” And Fallon agreed, saying, “Yeah, it's a great thing!”
