Netflix Just Revealed We’ve Been Pronouncing ‘Emily in Paris’ All Wrong

Just one day after we learned the exciting news that艾米丽在巴黎has beenrenewed for season two, Netflix revealed some interesting information about the show, specifically the pronunciation of the title.

ICYMI: On Wednesday, the streaming giantconfirmed that thehit serieswill return for season two. They announced the renewal by sharing a video of the cast saying “two” in French. And just hours later, the company addressed one major mistake that fans have been making since the show’s premiere.

Turns out, we’ve been pronouncing the title wrong, and the streaming service is finally calling us out on it.“Friendly reminder艾米丽在巴黎is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent so ‘Emily’ and ‘Paris’ rhyme,” the company wrote in atweet.

Clearly, the internet had some feelings on the matter which they expressed through a variety of tweets and memes. One user summed up our thoughts in one simple word, “WHAT.”

And while we’re mind-boggled by this revelation, we’re not totally surprised at the news of season two, since seriescreator Darren Starpreviously revealed there’s more story to tell. “In season two, she's going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she's living in. She'll be more of a resident of the city,”he toldOprah Magazine. “She'll have her feet on the ground a little more. She's making a life there.”

Looks like we need to be working on our French before new episodes hit the small screen.
