Netflix’s ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ Is Coming Back for Season 2—Here’s What We Know

As if one season of paranormal family drama wasn’t enough,The Haunting of Hill Houseis officially coming back for more.

Netflix just renewed the horror series (a reinterpretation of the classic Shirley Jackson novel) for a second season, with one tiny plot twist: new house, new family.

The streaming service revealed in atweetthat the series is now an anthology, simply titledThe Haunting. Season two will be calledThe Haunting of Bly Manor, based on Henry James’s 1898 novellaThe Turn of the Screw. Creator Mike Flanagan and executive producer Trevor Macy are on board as part of a multiyear deal with Netflix.

Considering season one left the Crain family pretty much beyond all help, we don’t expect to see them make any surprise cameos inBly Manor. (And Nell will be busyhaunting Penn Badgley, anyway). But it’s always possible that cast members fromHill Housecould return in new roles, à la that other horror anthologyAmerican Horror Story.

Expect the next season to drop sometime in 2020. Fingers crossed it’s the year’s scariest thing.
