These brand-new photos ofKatherine Heigl’s family are giving us majorholiday card共鸣。
This week, theFirefly Lanestar, 43, celebrated the last day of National Adoption Month by sharing a slideshow of never-before-seen pictures. The pics feature her husband, Josh Kelley, along with their three kids: Naleigh Mi-Eun (13), who was adopted from South Korea; and Adalaide (9), who was adopted from Louisiana; and Joshua (4).
The first pic shows Kelley posing with the three kids, who are clinging on to him from all angles. While the singer is holding Joshua, his daughters are looking directly at the camera. The second photo is a throwback featuring Heigl and her mom, Nancy, posing with then-toddlers Naleigh and Adalaide.
In the caption, Heigl revealed why November is so important. “November was National Adoption Month. A month to celebrate all adoptive families, and to recognize the need for forever homes for children in foster care,” she wrote. “There are over 122,000 children and youth across the country waiting in foster care for at least one caring adult in their life. 1 in 5 of those youth are teens who are at high risk of aging out of foster care which increases their risk of homelessness and human trafficking.”
Heigl went on to explain why she supportsRaise the Future(previously known as The Adoption Exchange). “By connecting youth, supporting families and creating hope, @raise.the.future is creating a safe, brighter future for thousands of youth that have experienced foster care, one caring adult at a time.”
