Mindy Kaling Attends Taylor Swift Concert with Her Daughter: ‘It Was Such a Magical Night’

The actress and producer, 44, and her 5-year-old daughter, Katherine "Kit," joined millions of fans to seeTaylor Swift’s The Eras Tourat SoFi Stadium, and Kaling is already calling it her daughter's "best first concert ever." On Instagram, she shared a slideshow of her favorite moments, including images of her daughter watching the show and footage of Kit swapping friendship bracelets—a popular concert tradition inspired by the lyrics of Swift's song, "You're on Your Own, Kid."
Kaling captioned the post, "Thank you so much @sofi and @taylorswift for the best first concert EVER for my daughter, Kit! She swapped friendship bracelets all night and got to hear her favorite Taylor song live, Cruel Summer! It was such a magical night."
The first two photos show Kit dancing in theTiny Ellie Nap Dressfrom Hill House as she watches Swift perform in SoFi's packed stadium, and the third slide features a clip of the young fan taking a friendship bracelet from a fellow concert-goer. Then, we see a short clip of Swift performing live on stage.
In the comments, Kaling's palReese Witherspoonwrote, "What a Night to Remember!" Another fan said, "That’s an epic first concert for her to attend, memories that will last a lifetime."
In addition, theSex Lives of College Girlscreator also shared pics with her friends at the show.
Kaling wrote, "The first night of the LA Eras tour was everything! @haimtheband set the tone by destroying in their home town and then @taylorswift, well, did her bejeweled thing and 70,000 of us were like 'how can we know every single lyric to 5 hours of songs?'"
She added, "There were no highlights. It was all highlight. Just be happy I’m not posting the video @katelinden took of me screaming along to “Delicate”. Thank you Tree and Taylor!"
In the first photo, Kaling proudly showcases her friendship bracelets while standing near the stage, and in the second, she poses alongside a group of friends.
The actress has been a longtime fan of the 33-year-old pop star. In fact, back in 2013, she famouslytweeted, "I wish Taylor Swift and I were the youngest and oldest sisters, respectively, of a large Jane Austen-y type family." Also in 2020, she raved about Swift's eye-openingMiss Americanadocumentary. On Twitter, shewrote, "I absolutely loved #MissAmericana, the @taylorswift13 documentary. I loved her music but now I love her (that's weird to say about someone I've never met)."
It's no wonder Kit is now a proud Swiftie.
