Kristen Bell’s ‘Veronica Mars’ Reboot Trailer Just Dropped…and Things Are Scarier Than We Remember

Veronica Mars is reporting for duty—again.

A brand-new trailer featuring the now grown-up private detective we know and love just dropped, and Veronica (Kristen Bell) is still kicking ass and taking names. And while she may not be that same 17-year-old girl anymore, she can still appreciate spring break.

That’s right, in the new iteration ofVeronica Mars, Veronica is a private detective in her hometown of Neptune, California. This time around she’s trying to solve the mystery of why someone is out to “destroy Neptune as a spring break destination.” The nerve!

But neon beer koozies and drunk college kids are hardly allVeronicahas to worry about. It appears in the years since we last enjoyed the coastal charm of Neptune, it has become the kind of place where shootings, muggings and even bomb explosions take place. It’s a lot to take in, but if anyone is equipped to whip Neptune back into shape, it’s Veronica.

OG cast members Patton Oswalt and J.K. Simmons also appear in the newVeronica Marschapter. The first incarnation of the series premiered in 2004 and centered around Veronica as an aspiring investigator/current high school student eager to solve the mystery of her best friend’s death in a fatal bus crash. The show took its bow after three seasons and in 2013, the series creators set up a Kickstarter campaign to fund a full-length movie, which premiered a year later.

Veronica Mars点击Hulu有八个brand-new episodes on Friday, July 26.

Spring break forever? Maybe not.
