Viola Davishas turned Valentine's Day into a family affair, complete with a stunning photo.
On Instagram, theHow to Get Away With Murderstar celebrated the holiday with a rare snap of her husband, Julius Tennon, and her 9-year-old daughter,Genesis. She wrote, "My heart!! THIS is what I live for!! It gives my life meaning and I am forever grateful that they grace my life. Love you G and J...forever and beyond. Happy Valentine's Day!!!"
In the pic, the family appears to be enjoying a special dinner together. Davis and Tennon sit on either side of theiradopted daughter, who's seen forming a heart with her hands. And not surprisingly, stars took to the comments to gush over the snap, including Yvette Nicole Brown, Cynthia Bailey and Billy Porter, who responded with heart emojis.
Davis and her husband adopted Genesis as a baby in 2011, and since then, the budding actress has been popping up on her mom's IG feed on a few occasions. For example, in 2017, Davis shared athrowback picof Genesis dressed as Wonder Woman and wrote, "Genesis at 2 almost 3. She wanted to keep her fro. #WonderWoman! We're ready!!! #TBT."
While speaking withPeopleabout raising her daughter, the Oscar-winning actress revealed, "I empower her to understand that she has to count it all as joy. Even her mistakes, her failures, her triumphs, what she looks like, all of it. That's all a part of her loving herself, even if none of those things change."
She added, "I don’t shelter her. I just tell her she’s worth it. Even if I’m combing her hair, and she’s crying…She does not have to be a perfect little girl. There’s no such thing. It’s okay to be vulnerable, and there’s strength in vulnerability."
