These Old ‘SNL’ Skits Are Trending Thanks to the Upcoming ‘Barbie’ Film Release

We've all got芭比娃娃feveras we get closer to the release of Greta Gerwig's芭比娃娃, which hits theaters on July 21. And as the day draws nearer, TikTok users have dug up a couple of vintage芭比娃娃-themedSaturday Night Liveskits, which quickly went viral.

One skit was shared by the user @iamdefinitelynotayloron TikTok, and the clip racked up over one million views and nearly 300k likes. In the skit, Amy Poehler plays a Barbie doll, who comes home to find her husband, Ken (Will Forte), hanging out with another Barbie (Paris Hilton). Over top of the clip, the TikTok user comically wrote, “Before you watch芭比娃娃next weekend, watch this—it's important for the timeline.” (You can view the entire skit below.)

The doll-themed skit first aired in 2005, during season 30 of the sketch comedy series. However, it was actually a sequel to a skitwhich aired onSNLback in 2002.

In this original skit, Amy Poehler still plays the role of Barbie, but she's looking after her younger sister, Skipper (played by Britney Spears), who wants to go to a party. In the end, Barbie reveals a major secret to Skipper that totally changes everything.

When this clip wasposted to TikToklast month by user @calabasaswings, it got overthreemillion views and nearly 450k likes.

It's no surprise that these clips have been blowing up, because moviegoers are anxiously awaiting the release of芭比娃娃.

According to arecent tweetfrom reporter Matthew Belloni, as shared byScreenRant,芭比娃娃film is projected to earn around $93 million in its opening weekend, which is nearly double whatearly predictionsreported.

From芭比娃娃coreto this, it seems that芭比娃娃will be dominating trends for quite some time.
