It’s official: Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer are returning to the big screen for theCall Me by Your Namesequel.
Director Luca Guadagnino recently announced the news during an interview withLa Repubblica, an Italian publication. The filmmaker revealed that he’ll not only direct the follow-up film—which is based on André Aciman’s sequel toCall Me by Your Name,找到我—but he also confirmed that it’ll feature several returning cast members, including Chalamet, Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg and Esther Garrel.
“Of course, it’s a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Esther Garrel and the other actors—they will all be in the new film,” Guadagnino said.
找到我takes place several years afterCall Me by Your Name, so don’t expect another repeat of the summer of 1983. It follows a now-divorced Samuel (Stuhlbarg), who meets a life-changing woman during a trip to see Elio (Chalamet). Oliver (Hammer), on the other hand, is working as a professor in the states and can’t decide whether he should return to Europe for a much-needed reunion.
