Kerry Washington Pays Homage to ‘Scandal’ Character Olivia Pope with a Major Throwback

Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the debut of ABC’s popular thriller series,Scandal. For the occasion, Kerry Washington decided to post an iconic throwback to honor the best fixer in Washington, D.C.: Olivia Pope.

Instagram, 45岁的女演员在越南河粉to slideshow, highlighting her titular character from the hit series. In the throwback pic, the crisis manager is shown sporting a dark gray suit with an open-neck white blouse while standing in a room of discarded newspapers.

The next photo features additional cast members from the show, who worked for “Olivia Pope & Associates.” (The group specialized in fixing political situations and scandals.) The collage also included her onscreen love interest President Fitzgerald Grant, played by Tony Goldwyn.

Washington wrote in the caption, “Happy 10th Anniversary to Olivia Pope and these beautiful people I’m lucky enough to call my #ScandalFam. I love you all. WE love you all!!!! #OverACliff #ScandalTurns10.”

Even the show’s creator,Shonda Rhimes, celebrated the series by sharingbehind-the-scenes photosfrom the set on IG. The array of photos featured theScandaltable reads and exclusive snapshots with various cast members. She wrote in the caption, “Happy 10th anniversary, Gladiators! [red heart emoji] #ScandalTurns10 #ScandalFam.”

Scandalfirst premiered on April 5, 2012, on ABC. The show went on for seven seasons, until coming to an end in April 2018.

The political drama received several accolades during its time on the air, like winning the award for Outstanding Drama Series at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards. Washington also snagged anEmmy nominationfor Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and aGolden Globefor Best Actress in a Drama Series.

Olivia Pope will always be a legend in this household.
