Royal photographer Samir Hussein is sharing details about how the coronavirus pandemic will affect future engagements. (And yes, things are bound to be even more exclusive than usual.)
photographer—who has captured several memorable moments, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’siconic rain photo—appeared on a recent episode of theRoyally Obsessedpodcast, where he chatted with hostsRachel BowieandRoberta Fioritoabout what to expect. Hussein admitted the royal family will likely take drastic measures due to the pandemic, including limited access during events.
“I think there’s going to be very little access to them,” he said. “When these opportunities do come up, it’s probably going to be just one or two photographers until things get back to some kind of normality.”
Hussein explained that the concern isn’t only for the royal family, but for the press, too. “I think it’s just going to be limiting the number of photographers because it’s not just the proximity of us to [the royal family], but it’s also us to other photographers,” he continued. “Normally for a big engagement, there would be quite a few of us down there.”
