Taylor Swift Just Broke This Major Record Set by Barbra Streisand

We're not sure howTaylor Swifthad a blank space left on her list ofimpressive accomplishments, but the 33-year-old pop superstar just broke another major record. Forget her colossal Eras Tour or her pile of 12 Grammys—the Pennsylvania native is currently thinking about her new number-one album,Speak Now (Taylor's Version), which just solidified her as the woman withthe most number-one albums200年历史上的广告牌。

Yep, that's right Swifties—she just beat a record set by Barbra Streisand, who currently has 11 number-one albums to her name.

The “Enchanted” singer's latest LP,Speak Now (Taylor's Version), is the third album she's re-recorded in an effort to get control of the masters of her first six releases. In 2021, she droppedFearless (Taylor's Version)andRed (Taylor's Version), which both went to number one as well.

With this record, Swift is now tied with Drake for the third-most number-one albums in the history of the Billboard chart. Right above these two is Jay-Z, with 14 number ones, followed by The Beatles, with 19.

In its first week,Speak Now (Taylor's Version)获得ed 716,000 equivalent album units, according to Billboard. Of these numbers, 507,000 were pure album sales (vinyls, CDs), while streaming accounted for 206,000 units.

Swift is currently the only artist to ever have five albums debut with over a million copies sold (Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Midnights). With the release ofSpeak Now (Taylor's Version), Swift currently has the best-selling album of 2023 so far.

Of course, there are still three albums that Swift has left to re-record: Her self-titled debut,1989andReputation. So, based on her history of sales, it's probably only a matter of time before she collects evenmorenumber ones.
